Pop art person blowing bubble gum with 'FIZZ! POP!' text, the heart of Fizzy Rascal

The Heart of The Fizzy Rascal

The Fizzy Rascal began as a shared spark between Natalie and her wife, Lyndsey — two people who are, in their own ways, both Fizzy and Rascal. After 25 years in corporate marketing, Natalie felt a pull back to something more human, more joyful, and more rooted in community. She wanted her next adventure to bring something joyful and meaningful to the community she calls home — a way to add a little more colour, connection, and celebration to Shoreham-by-Sea.

The idea didn’t arrive all at once. It grew slowly, playfully, through conversations, shared memories, and one very specific request from one of their children:
“Mum, can we get Flying Saucers?”
A simple question — but one that sent Natalie on a surprisingly difficult hunt. Why was it so hard to find something so nostalgic, so simple, so joyfilled? And if she was struggling… maybe others were too. That was the moment something clicked. Maybe there was a gap. Maybe there was a market. Maybe there was space for a sweet shop that wasn’t just a shop, but an experience.

But the real roots of The Fizzy Rascal go back much further.

Long before corporate boardrooms and brand strategies, Natalie spent her childhood and teenage years working at a bustling fairground in South Wales. From the age of 11, she sold sticks of rock, ice cream, slush puppies, and sweets to crowds of families and holidaymakers. She learned how to serve people, how to create moments, and how to bring joy from behind a counter. By 13 or 14, she’d earned her way into the “Senior Pinnies” — the elite of the fairground shop crew — and discovered the thrill of being part of a place that made people smile.

Those years shaped her. They taught her the magic of colour, chaos, and customer delight. They taught her the thrill of making someone’s day. And they planted the seed for a future she didn’t yet know she’d build.

Lyndsey, meanwhile, has always been the quiet engine behind the scenes — creative, strategic, operationally brilliant, and full of mischief in her own right. While she continues in fulltime employment, she is the silent partner who helped curate the concept, shape the vision, and bring the Rascal energy to life. The Fizzy Rascal is as much hers as it is Natalie’s.

Together, they dreamed up a place that blends nostalgia with creativity, mischief with meaning, and sweets with celebration. A place where families can make memories, adults can rediscover childhood magic, and the community can come together over something joyful.

The Fizzy Rascal is that dream made real.
